Publishers and Writers of Orange County (PWOC) is an extension of Publishers and Writers of San Diego (PWSD), which has been serving as a forum for education, networking, and motivation since 1994. Originally founded as The San Diego Publishers Alliance, our group comprises members from all areas of publishing and writing — authors, independent publishers, editors, book packagers, designers, consultants, promotional professionals, students, and more. Our membership includes numerous award-winning authors, writers, and publishing professionals.

Because of our established presence and history, PWSD is recognized throughout the publishing community as a valuable organization whose members contribute greatly to the benefit of our profession. At the request of member Jan Kingaard, we have extended our programming to Orange County and surrounding communities.

One key unique aspect of PWOC is that it focuses on the business of publishing. There are many groups that support the craft of writing – please check with your local library for groups — so we feel it’s important to for the success of authors and publishers to support the business side of publishing.

We meet the first Saturday morning of every month except December. Membership, which includes reduced meeting fees, a listing on the Publishers and Writers website, a permanent nametag, and more, is $47 per years. Meetings are $10 for members and $20 for non-members.
